What emerges from the diverse analyses included here, stemming from different experiences and different perspectives in analysis and interpretations of various phenomena, is not so much the image of an `unidentified political object` as of an object of care, or even concern. The authors make it clear, every one of them in their own way, that the EU and its Member States, including Poland, are facing new problems and challenges and that European integration - and this is something new - now is no longer struggling with a single crisis but with several overlapping crisis at the same time. In effect, in this situation we can no longer remain in the previous `from crisis to crisis` scenario, as if we want to save the EU and the entire integration process, we need to put forward new ideas and solutions.
"An excellent book focusing on crucial challenges of the European Union at a highly critical crossroads of the integration process. Critical contributions written by internationally renowned and pro-European experts from the most influential new member country of the UE, Poland, have to be read carefully and with a future-oriented focus "Federalism or fragmentation" is the justified question raised by Professor Góralczyk. In fact, the European integration is facing multiple challenges, both domestic and international ones."
